What to expect if you choose Solar Panel, Installation Somerset.
What is the process? How long does it take? How are the panels attached?
Naturally, the very first step is for one of our engineers to visit your Somerset home and do a complete survey – checking that the roof is suitable for installation (most UK roofs can take solar panels without an issue). Looking than the number of panels the project will need will depend on a few factors: roof size, roof direction (south is the most desirable, east and west can work also), the amount of electricity you regularly need to generate and the budget that you have.
On the day of the Solar Panel Installation Somerset, the project will be undertaken in stages. The whole process can take as little as two days depending on the size of the system and is surprisingly straightforward. Obviously, the site will have already been surveyed before Wessex Eco engineers arrive, so we will already have our detailed plan of how we will work on the solar panel installation on the roof of your Somerset home.
Stage one: erecting the scaffolding is the first step. Once this has been done, the marking out and the setting out of the panels will take place. This will involve confirming dimensions and checking tiles by lifting them up to find the rafters. The rafters are where the roof hooks are inserted. Tiles will be put back down and can be weathered if necessary. The hooking process continues until parallel lines of hooks have been created. This is the mechanism used for bolting on the rails, the rails are what hold the solar panels in place. Placing the solar panels onto these rails is the final step in this particular part of the project (wiring and making the electrical connections follows this, this is stage two).
Occasionally people express concern when they are considering having solar panels installed in Somerset, worried that the solar panels could somehow damage the roof. That will not happen provided the right roof bolt is used for the particular type of tile and the fit is done professionally and correctly.
Once fully installed, if there is enough light, the panels will start generating electricity immediately. Solar panels are basically maintenance-free and should last for approximately 25 years.
